Sounds like you might have a bad soldering for the USB connector. Please contact "support@theeyetribe.com" to have it returned and replaced.
Statistics: Posted by skataMartin — 20 Jan 2014, 12:16

I received the eyetracker last Monday, and I was really impressed by the quality of the device and of the packaging.
The dimensions are also really nice, because I intend to use it as a gaze speaker on a windows 8 tablet for my disabled daughter.

Unfortunately, after several attempts on 2 different computers (desktops), I could make it work:

After multiple investigations, it seems to be a problem with the micro-B connection on the device: when I move slightly the cable, the device disappears from the device manager; however, it never starts completely because I never see the red lights appear (I could see infra-red blinks during less than a second using an infrared camera - a thorlabs with a IR filter - I use currently with the ITU gazespeaker).

I tried with 2 other USB 3.0 gold-plated cables on 2 different computers under windows 8.1 with the latest drivers, with the same problem.
Statistics: Posted by skatapierre — 19 Jan 2014, 20:56
