Ok, no need to delete just run &quot;services.msc&quot; and right click Tobii Service and hit Stop. Then proceed to flash the device.   <br /><br />Also, wait for Windows to initialize the device. It has come to my attention that there is a major conflict occurring when flashing our devices on systems that also have a Tobii EyeX/Steelseries Sentry device installed. This is due to both devices use the Cypress FX3 controller and that Tobii have decided to override the default Cypress driver with their own and force-flash their firmware onto all empty Cypress devices that connects to the computer.... this starts automatically and cannot be stopped, thanks!  <img src="http://theeyetribe.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif" alt=":x" title="Mad" /> <br /><br />Therefore, if you wish to update the firmware on a computer that also have the Tobii installed you must disable/uninstall the Tobii software first. <br /><br />Otherwise, if the driver have been messed up by the Tobii software you must:<br />- Start the Device Manager<br />- Right click  &quot;Tobii IS3 Factory Bootloader&quot; under &quot;Eye Tracking Devices&quot; and select Properties.<br />- Select &quot;Driver&quot; tab<br />- Click &quot;Uninstall&quot;, tick the checkbox &quot;Delete the driver software for this device&quot; before clicking Ok<p>Statistics: Posted by <a href="http://theeyetribe.com/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&amp;u=117">skataMartin</a> — 17 Apr 2015, 15:43</p><hr />

Sorry to hear that Joaquin.<br /><br />I just got word from Antti:<br /><dl class="codebox"><dt>Code: </dt><dd><code>I have ran a couple of tests with the new firmware and the device seems to work fine now. <br /><br />I had to do the update twice since the first round went somehow wrong. After first try Windows warned about a current peak in USB root hub.</code></dd></dl><br /><br />So it does seem to help in some cases. I would like to mention that I had troubles updating the firmware. It seems that my USB port is not working properly with the TET and I got during update disconnection and reconnection of the device. Hi Martin,<br /><br />I'm happy to report that the two new Eye Tribe trackers work well. We'll be using these in our upcoming study.<br /><br />I did have one brief disconnection when testing one of the devices for an hour. This showed up as &quot;The device stream has paused&quot;/&quot;The device stream has stopped&quot; messages. The device reconnected in about 8 seconds, so it's probably not a big deal. Hi,<br /><br />I'm also having this stream-stopped issue. Hi Joe,<br /><br />Appreciate the extensive testing, it is obvious that there is problem with this device and Windows 8. The results were similar to before. />Note that the device stream pauses and then stops, but sometimes the Eye Tribe Server will notice when I close the Eye Tribe UI after the lockup, resulting in a &quot;Connection removed&quot; message. Other times it doesn't notice at all.<br /><br />I tested the device out on Windows 7 again for an extended period of time. I even tested a computer with a fresh re-installation of Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and a computer that had just arrived from the factory. The device functions perfectly on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine, but I have not found a Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit computer that works for longer than a few minutes. I have swapped out cables (including a new one from a third party) and there are no cable problems. Based on my testing, it really does seem like the device has a problem with Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit. <br /><br />We have a couple more Eye Tribe devices arriving at our lab this week, so I'll follow-up with those to see whether this is a fluke. Hey Joe,<br /><br />Yup, seems like a faulty data path, we've seen some incompatibility with USB host controllers but this seems to be something else. Okay, so I flashed the device to firmware 293 and then tested a computer running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit that just arrived from the factory today. Unfortunately, the same lockup problem occurred. The device worked long enough to calibrate (with great success--five star quality), but then &quot;froze&quot; with the red LED lights on and no more log output. I then closed the Eye Tribe UI and Server, neither of which produced any more output. Hi Martin,<br /><br />My test with a fresh installation of Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit shows that the issue is not due to a conflict with installed software. The EyeTribe SDK was the only thing installed. The computer was also not connected to the internet. As before, I experienced a lockup after a range of ~15 seconds to a couple of minutes.
