Interesting idea, need to read up more on the Pockels effect.<br /><br />I've played around with a normal <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarizer" class="postlink">polarizing filter</a>, with the appropriate orientation it's fairly effective at reducing environmental glare but there is a significant loss in output. It also  adds cost and increased opto-mechanical design complexity. Martin!<br />you did not try to use a polarizing filter on top of the IR with the Pockels effect?
