Are you running Windows on Mac hardware? I think that you have the standard USB drivers from Microsoft still installed.

I recall when we installed on MacMini and had issues with the bootcamp driver package. Turned out that we manually had to go into the Device Manager, right click and click Uninstall the driver for the USB 3.0 controller. Then we manually added the correct drivers (Bootcamp package) and it worked perfectly.
Statistics: Posted by skataMartin — 13 Jul 2014, 04:01

@Martin, thank you for sending me the pre-release version of 0.9.39-x86 for my Windows 8.1 machine. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the server no longer crashes upon startup, so 0.9.39 is definitely better. The bad news is that it does not work with my Eye Tribe device, whose firmware is out of date. Transcripts are below. Who/how/where can I download the latest firmware?

Here are transcripts of how this appears.
Specifically, this appears in the terminal:

Code:

INF: Eye Tribe Tracker firmware revision is 0
ERR:The Eye Tribe Tracker firmware revision is no longer suported!
Please upgrade to revision 202

Here is the session log:

Code:

2014-07-11 20:19:27.219|152743896|I|Creating new log file
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|Initializing environment
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|Detecting primary screen
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|Register control handler
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|Initializing config system
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|Trying to load obsolete config file
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|W|Config file "C:\Users\golan\AppData\Local\EyeTribe/EyeTribe.cfg" doesn't exist!
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|TCP port: 6555
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|Connections: local only
2014-07-11 20:19:27.234|152743896|I|Framerate: 30
2014-07-11 20:19:27.250|152743896|I|Initializing Eye Tribe Server (v0.9.39)
2014-07-11 20:19:27.250|152743896|I|Creating Tracker Manager
2014-07-11 20:19:27.250|152743896|I|Creating Camera Manager
2014-07-11 20:19:27.250|152743896|I|Initializing COM library
2014-07-11 20:19:27.250|152743896|I|Initialized COM library
2014-07-11 20:19:27.266|152743896|I|Video capturing device Found: TheEyeTribe #2
2014-07-11 20:19:27.266|152743896|I|Video capturing device Found: FaceTime HD Camera (Built-in)
2014-07-11 20:19:27.266|152743896|I|Starting Device Monitor
2014-07-11 20:19:27.266|152743896|I|Creating Detection Manager
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Creating Calibration Manager
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Initializing dispatcher
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Initializing Network
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Setting network connection port
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Setting max network connections
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Setting connection timeout
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Starting Network
2014-07-11 20:19:27.281|152743896|I|Checking for running instances
2014-07-11 20:19:27.641|152743896|I|Validating number of camera devices
2014-07-11 20:19:27.641|152743896|W|Waiting for the tracker device to be connected
2014-07-11 20:19:41.273|1003188926|I|Video capturing device Found: TheEyeTribe
2014-07-11 20:19:41.281|1003188926|I|Registering the device
2014-07-11 20:19:41.282|1003188926|I|Device registered
2014-07-11 20:19:41.282|1003188926|I|Validating camera device
2014-07-11 20:19:41.282|1003188926|I|Initializing tracker device
2014-07-11 20:19:41.282|1003188926|I|Starting Direct Show device
2014-07-11 20:19:41.298|1003188926|I|Building Direct Show render graph
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|I|Setting up device properties
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|E|Direct Show props [-2147467262] (tetcode:2220)
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|E|Direct Show props [-2147467262] (tetcode:2220)
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|E|Direct Show props [-2147467262] (tetcode:2220)
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|I|Setting chosen video format
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|W|Framerate not available, using default mode
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|I|Validate camera firmware
2014-07-11 20:19:41.318|1003188926|I|Eye Tribe Tracker firmware revision is 0
2014-07-11 20:19:41.330|1003188926|E|The Eye Tribe Tracker firmware revision is no longer suported
2014-07-11 20:19:41.330|1003188926|E|The Eye Tribe Tracker is not working
2014-07-11 20:19:41.330|1003188926|E|The tracker device has been connected but not working
2014-07-11 20:19:49.190|152743896|I|Stopping Network
2014-07-11 20:19:49.534|152743896|I|Shutting down Tracker Manager
2014-07-11 20:19:49.534|152743896|I|Stoppig Device Monitor

Thanks for your help,
Golan
Statistics: Posted by skatagolan@andrew.cmu.edu — 12 Jul 2014, 05:31

Worked for me as well! It told me that USB 3.0 failed, I reinstalled the USB 3.0 drivers and that worked.
Statistics: Posted by skatadirk.janssen@gmail.com — 01 Jul 2014, 14:53

Hello Martin,

Thank you very much for your help, it's working perfectly now.

When I installed this new version (sdk .39), the server was still crashing but the server window wasn't coming at all anymore. So, I tried the same than others from this forum, I uninstalled my usb 3.0 drivers and re-installed them manually.

Now it works well, thank you again Martin !

Best Regards,

Julien
Statistics: Posted by skatajulien.miagat@ge.com — 01 Jul 2014, 10:49
