The Eye Tribe Tracker for OS X v0.9.39 released

We are proud to announce the first beta release (v0.9.39) of The Eye Tribe Tracker SDK for OS X. The software package contains two modules: the EyeTribe Server and the EyeTribe UI.

The EyeTribe Server is in charge of starting the hardware device and providing eye tracking information through a TCP socket. Client applications can connect to the Server using this socket and get the stream of gaze coordinates.

The EyeTribe UI is provided as a sample application and allows you to start the eye tracking engine, calibrate the system to your eyes, and control the mouse cursor with your eye movements.

The Objective-C SDK will be available on our GitHub in the coming days.

The current version of The Eye Tribe Tracker for OS X is in beta. We have identified the following known issues, which will be fixed in a future release:
- The eye tracker device must be plugged in the USB 3.0 port before starting the EyeTribe Server, otherwise it will not be recognized
- The EyeTribe Server needs to be started before launching the EyeTribe UI, otherwise the EyeTribe UI might crash
- The server currently supports framerates up to 30 Hz. 60 Hz will be supported in a later release

The Eye Tribe Tracker for OS X v0.9.39 has been tested on Mac Mini and MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9. If you experience issues or have feedback please report it on the Issues and Troubleshooting - OSX forum.
Statistics: Posted by skataJavier — 28 Jun 2014, 11:54
