Update: This feature request has been confirmed for next release. The server will accept a command line argument to initialize with a given calibration. ETA is approx. 2 weeks.

FYI: we have support for using the API to load/save calibrations on the fly.
Statistics: Posted by skataMartin — 24 Jul 2015, 22:13

@Martin - Any news on saving/loading different calibration files? I'm working on a multi-user app and would like the correct calibration to be loaded on login. I can make a hackish implementation as follows:
- Save calibration: copy default.profile -> username.profile
- Load calibration: copy username.profile -> default.profile and restart the Eye Tribe server

But the workflow would be much simpler if I could just pass username.profile via the Eye Tribe connector. Or at the very least, pass username.profile as a command-line argument to the Eye Tribe server. We have some field testing coming up soon and it would be nice to have an ETA on this feature.
Statistics: Posted by skatalichter@bainet.com — 20 Jul 2015, 15:29

Hi Martin

Thanks for the answer and for the new function allowing saving calib settings. Any plan for choosing the number of calibration points (3-5-9 ?)
Best
Jean
Statistics: Posted by skatajean.lorenceau@upmc.fr — 18 Apr 2015, 18:07

Hi Jean,

First version with the calibration-persisting has been released. It will automatically save a successful calibration and restore it on start. In the future we plan to roll out support for loading and saving of any given calibration.
Statistics: Posted by skataMartin — 31 Mar 2015, 03:43

Hi Martin,

I followed the exchanges about storing and restoring the calibration data. I, too, would be very interested by this possibility !!!
Any idea of a date for a release of this feature in the next version .. ?
Also, it would be good to be able to make a calibration with fewer points (3 or 5) ... I understand the risk of loosing precision, but as I'm working with patients unable to sustain their attention for a long time (well not that long I agree, but still significant), so that I am often unable to complete a 9 point calibration and must abandon the on-going protocol for that reason...
Thanks for your help !

Best,
Jean
Statistics: Posted by skatajean.lorenceau@upmc.fr — 30 Mar 2015, 16:28

I definitely need this. For my use case, I am placing a single tracker centered beneath my two screens. Since I can't figure out how to make the calibration UI "straddle" the two extended screens, I slid the tracker under the left screen, calibrated, then moved tracker to its final position.

Works, but intractable to do after every boot!
Statistics: Posted by skatagreg@collectivesoftware.com — 28 Jun 2014, 23:38

Hi David,

Currently the calibration is set in run-time and persists through multiple client sessions and aborted calibration. The feature to persist and restore a calibration over multiple boot sequences is on our roadmap.
Statistics: Posted by skataMartin — 28 Feb 2014, 18:33
