Could be an issue with the USB connector on the device and we need to resolder a pin or two on the board. We've seen this issue on a couple of devices from the first batch that went out (1-2%). Since then we've taken steps to make sure it doesn't happen anymore.

Please send an email to support@theeyetribe.com to arrange for a repair/replacement device.
Statistics: Posted by skataMartin — 19 Jul 2014, 00:17

Hi everyone,

I post this topic because of a device problem. I've been using the
eyeTribe device for weeks and all worked fine.

But, yesterday morning, several problems occured that made the device
unusable.

The problem began with a message telling the firmwall had to be
updated. So, we went on the site, dowloaded the firmwall again and
repaired the installed one.

After that, a new problem occured in these terms : "ERR : The EyeTribe
Tracker must be connected to a USB 3.0 host !". In fact, even though
the cable was connected to a usb 3.0 port, the device was recognised
to be connected to a usb 2.0 port.

We tried to unplug it an plug it again (several times) but it changed nothing.

I then thought it could be a problem of usb 3.0 driver but the driver
was already updated.

Do you have an idea of the problem ? Do you think it could be a problem of
device ?
Statistics: Posted by skataetienne.monier@ens-cachan.fr — 17 Jul 2014, 19:38
