Hi Martin

I'm facing some problem trying to launch the EyeTribeServer,

error : The Eye Tribe Tracker was not detected , so most probably an USB 3 issue
I tried severall solution as well as to flash my Bios

the PC, Win 7 64 bits , 2 USB 3 ports found as well in the USB Controler

As I read you got some issues as well with USB 3 , do you have some recommandation or remarks on how to configure / reinistall the USB 3 drivers

Regards

Did you try removing all the drivers and re-installing it. It might solve the problem.

Hi Nils.21

Yes, I did

Uninstall via Windows Peripheric tool - reboot - Install last driver downloaded from ASUS
Both Host Controller driver & Root Hub : RENESAS Electronics 23/04/201 Version 2.0.4.0

My mother board is an ASUS P7P55D-E with 2 USB 3.0 ports on the back panel , I tried to change the BIOS config to "IO Level UP [USB3.0]" to force full speed on USB 3

I strongly suspect a wrong setup of my USB 3.0 ports, but can find how to solve it.

Error Message I got is :

version : 0.9.20

WARNING: Framerate not available, usig defaut model
EROR : The Eye Tribe Tracker must be connected to a USB 3 host

Hi Maurice,

Just checked the specs for the P7P55D-E. It seems it's equipped with a USB 3.0 controller from NEC. Maybe you got the wrong drivers?

The NEC drivers version 1.0.19.0, and a firmware updater, is available from the ASUS P7P55DE download section.

Thanks Martin for your support

I did also to come back to the original one installed

the NEC one is installed but no changes , the port does not seem to be recognized as an USB3
I have the window message , a translation like "This USB Mass Storage Device can transfer information faster if you connect it to a Super-Speed USB 3.0 port"

if some one has some ideas, feel free to communicate

thanks

I also have an ASUS mb (M4A87TD/USB3). I updated the drivers from the ASUS site, and the tracker started working. The USB 3.0 ports have blue sockets, and face the back of the case. FYI.

Thanks amasbunku for your remark

I reloaded again drivers, no changes
I'm suspecting a MB controller problem

I 've my cable plug in one of the two usb 3 ports on the back face (the blue one correct)
With USB Device Tree Viewer, it seems that the USB3 port does not recognise the cable plugged as the tool displays no USB3 used but the port 8 of the intel 5 series/3400 :

Ok, it sounds I have one of the first ASUS P7P55D-E card delivered with some either controller or connection fault
similar to this one see http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/sho ... uxe-Review

I 've ordered a PCI card with USB3 to plug in and I will keep you post once received

Thanks

One thing to try, manually uninstall the USB3.0 host controller drivers by right clicking in the Device Manager list and make sure to check the "delete drivers from computer". Then reboot and install the drivers downloaded from the manufacturer site. It seems Windows sometimes installs default so-so drivers for USB 3.0 controllers.

Ok, we're tested several PCI add-on cards, all but one worked well. I will put up a list of tested configs soon.

I personally use the Asus U3S6 for my home PC as it is based on an Intel Core i7 920 from 2009 without USB3.0 ports, the SATA 6Gb is also a welcome addition.

We're also releasing a new version of the server with diagnostic capabilities soon.
