Eye Gaze and AAC

Eye gaze technology packaged for AAC is currently in the Very Expensive category which obviously restricts its usage. The Tracker $99 is potentially game-changer so fingers crossed for the huge success of the Eye Tribe.

Hoping that over time there will be ongoing conversation in this part of the Board.

For myself - involved with AAC and VOCA since mid-70's (yes, a little unbelievable), retired these days but doing some volunteer work with school districts (US: Maryland, Michigan). Huge need for introductory-cost equipment for assessment and candidate-training. The training category would optimally (in my mind) be games and multimedia-based systems that would engage the interest of the candidate. Many individuals who are very challenged communicationally have had their "natural language acquisition" process derailed and so are impacted by more that 'just' the physical / neurological condition. The process for "growing" communication in this circumstance could be greatly enhanced by appropriate technology coupled with enlightened pedagogy.
