The Eye Tribe Tracker for Windows v0.9.49 released

Postby Martin » 06 Dec 2014, 00:47

This time we are bumping the version number from 0.9.41 to 0.9.49, there's been a couple of candidates that never made it. Mac version got a great deal of focus, now that OSX is working we return to Windows. The newest version contains a number of improvement across the board. Lower resource utilization, improved stability, better eye tracking performance. We've also made some improvements to the SDKs and samples found on our GitHub.

You can get the new version at the download page (login required).

Change log:

EyeTribe Server
- Improved one-eye tracking
- Improved network stability
- Lower CPU utilization and latency
- Fixed crash when device was connected to a USB 2.0 port at startup
- Server executable is now digitally signed
- Faster response time when calibrating with feedback-reporting

EyeTribe UI
- Updated to .Net 4.0 framework, no longer requires activation of legacy framework on Windows 8.
- Optimized the graphical look of target for optimal fixation based on a publication by Thaler et al (2013) “What is the best fixation target? The effect of target shape on stability of fixational eye movements”
- Improved built-in calibration stability, added the option for selecting the transition time between points (e.g. animation speed).
- Added dialog to reconfigure and restart server from UI (e.g. change frame-rate etc.), found under the Systems tab.
- Added keyboard shortcuts to perform basic operations, the hot-keys are:
Shift-C, start calibration
Shift-M, enable/disable mouse cursor redirect
- Added option in config file to enable/disable auto-starting of the server, located in tetbasicsettings.xml. Corresponding tag is <ServerAutoStart>True</ServerAutoStart>
- Minor UI updates, fixed calibration area size text fields, values are reset when selecting the same monitor again. Reworked the demo-mode flow and logic.
- Overall stability improvements and performance optimizations (minor)
- Updated to run with latest C# SDK (client, trackbox & calibrationrunner)
