Short answer is yes ;) I'll let you take it for a spin once we have a release candidate.

Just wanted to reiterate interest in Linux support. I realize shipping for Mac is the focus right now, but as soon as there is a Linux ETA I'll be ordering mine. I have my Tobii, but it's kinda useless until they take alternative OS's seriously (I literally heard about you guys from other frustrated Tobii devs).

Also, removing the dependency on Boost from the C++ library would be nice.

Hi Mike,

What's the Linux distro you are using?

Any preferences for UI framework?

I'm using 64bit Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop.

My personal preference is no UI framework. I've built a custom UI on top of OpenGL, and I just want to know what you can tell me: Where I'm looking, and any eye expressions you track (blinking, squinting, winking, eyes closed, eyes wide open, furrowed brows, etc). I'd be happy just knowing where I'm looking though. Anything more would be a bonus.

Another Linux user here - well at least a lot of our software which we use for experiments runs on Linux and it would simplify the process having a Linux version of the EyeTribeServer.

Mainly we are using Ubuntu (14.04 at the moment).

Also happy to test beta version etc. - and an update about what the status of the Linux version is ;)

I'm thrilled to see your eagerness to have it running on Linux, many of our developers prefer Linux as well so we are no strangers to it ;)

It's hard for me to make firm promises for Linux, people who use it do so passionately and I'd like to support you, but the OS represent a small but growing market share :?

I'll check with the team tomorrow to get a status, if it is ready it's likely that the first release will be server-only, as we currently have no Linux specific UI, and that it will be a limited beta (e.g. people who posted on this thread).

I'd like to be included in the Linux Beta. I am doing development on an ARM system that runs UBUNTU (LUBUNTU) as well as desktop systems in various distro's
