Breaking the eyetribe tracker shell for manual focus

Postby deepakakkil » 28 Oct 2015, 10:47

Hello,
I recently read this academic paper "A Gaze Interactive Textual Smartwatch Interface" where the authors used the EyeTribe tracker for gaze tracking on a smartwatch with a relatively lower user-tracker distance.
The paper describes "The lens focus <Of EyeTribe> is adjusted to focus at 35 cm". I am aware that to manually focus the lens, I need to break the EyeTribe shell and may also breach any future warranty claims.

My question is, has anybody here done this before? If yes, what is the optimal way to teardown the shell of eyetribe (It seems to be very well built!)
