[Resolved] Wrong firmware 293 instead of 290

Postby bm » 26 May 2014, 05:05

I followed the instructions and when plugged in the device I got an error - Invalid device firmware, upgrade required. When I looked at the server it was saying - Tracker firmware 293 - please downgrade to 290. What do I do next?

I got the TheEyeTribeSDK-0.9.36-x86.exe and that fixed the problem.

Good to hear. Please let me know how 0.9.36 is working for you.

Hi,

I have a controller with firmware 203 and a different controller with firmware 293.

I discovered that software 0.9.40 works with firmware 203 and 0.9.41 with firmware 293.

The differences are mostly in the ability to connect and not disconnect.

is there a way to upgrade firmware?

Hi Ryklin,

Correct, we've updated the firmware for the second batch. These are minor changes that does not warrant a broader roll-out.
Older versions of the server allows a certain range of firmwares where as newer released accept firmwares from 203 and up.

There can be some degree of risk involved when flashing firmware to a device so we have not released the flasher tool yet. I've seen a few occasions where the firmware was cleared but not 100% flashed, this leads to the device showing up as a blank USB device (e.g. not the usual "TheEyeTribe") and the driver has to be manually installed before it can be re-flashed (e.g. takes a bit of geek skills..)

Currently work-in-progress with no public release date and primarily driven by a significant improvement in functionality and/or performance. I'll post once it's ready for public release. If you really want your device from the first batch to updated to version 293 I can send you the alpha-version of the flasher tool (drop me a PM).
