Hah! Solved problem by installing Windows 8 (used Parallels Desktop because VirtualBox has no USB3.0 support). Everything works fine (even inside Virtual Machine)!
The issues we're having on the OSX platform relates to the built-in video frameworks so it is software-related. We've learned that there is some variety between the different versions of Mac hardware/software that we did not find during in-house testing (on a Macbook Pro and a Mini).
Hang in there, we're working on it. It will be just as good as the Windows version in a few release cycles.
I just saw that there is a 'Known Issues' post at the top of the windows forum entry. It might make sense that you use something similar here to keep people updated of these and similar problems!
Started the older version of the software 0.9.36, calibrated and used it in my Java program without any problem. After the update to 0.9.41 there was not chance for me to do the calibration and in Java I don't get coordinates at all. I'm running on a 2 year old 15" Macbook Pro Retina.

Could you provide additional information about your approach. I have tried several versions of Windows (7/8/8.1) inside parallels but I am still experiencing the same jittery behavior as when using OS X.
