Calibration and the Tracker position

I noticed that the eyetribe test UI asked yo you enter (Via 2 drop down menus) the position of the tracker for example centre bottom or centre left ect.

However I cannot see anywhere in the API why this is done and/or how this information is used to improve recognition.

can any of the devs shed some light on this ?

Many thanks in advanced

The alignment drop downs relates to the alignment of the active calibration area, not the physical placement of the device.

For example, computer have a 24" monitor with resolution of 1920x1200, however the stimuli is sized 1024x1024, to obtain best calibration the software is configured to calibrate to an active area of 1024x1024. This reduced area can then be aligned center/center etc.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your reply,

I think I understand the concept.. your actually only pulling calibration points within the 1024x1024 area then extrapolating this to the full resolution of the screen ?

I'm assuming this is just to help with creating the scatter of points to calibrate from ? and the 9, 12 and 16 point because the maths is easier to find out where those points are ?
