Suitability for Reading and Text Comprehension Experiments

Has anyone done work where eye gaze is tracked in reference to word or line positions on a text stimulus with the Eye Tribe Tracker? What is the temporal resolution sampling rate for eye position with your tracker? Has anyone looked at the compatibility between your API and the Open Source/Java Text 2.0 Framework from Germany?

On a side note is anyone collecting data with the Eye Tribe simultaneous with other physiological measurements such as heart rate variability, skin conductivity or respiration?

I'm not sure the sampling rate of 60 hz is good enough to run text reading experiments.
Usually higher rates are used (e.g. 500hz, 1000hz, 2000hz with eyelink eye trackers).

I used myself Tobii 60hz eyetrackers to run visual world experiments (pictures are presented while listening to speech) and that's enough.

The problem is that when you analyze text you may wanna investigate effects with magnitude of 15-20 ms that are too to the sampling rate. But if your effect are big and consistent enough, then you may get good data with a 60hz tracker.

Or just wait that Martin pushes the limit of the eye tribe a little bit further ;)
