There was mention of a new release "by Friday", though I don't know the exact date. Will registered users receive an e-mail notification? If not, which forum should we watch for the announcement?

We're polishing the last bits at the moment. Once it's ready it will be announced in the Announcements category.

Do you have any idea how long it will take if anyone tries to do it himself? Or, are you modifying hardware for that?

Also, can you please point me to a source to get started as I am unable to find any reliable one yet.
