Very stable and smooth – no more flickering
In 9.40, I noticed that the cursor was the most stable and smooth that I had ever seen it.
In 9.41, it’s even more stable.
There’s no flickering of the animated eyes in the Eye Tribe UI anymore.
Cursor movement during fixation is so still that I actually noticed the transition from a slightly jittery cursor as soon as the pupil comes to a stop, into a super steady cursor just a couple moments after.
Offset downwards
Like in my 9.40 review, I noticed that there is an offset downwards off about 1 cm to 3 cm.
This time, in 41, I think that in addition to the downwards offset, there is an additional offset to the right with an offset of about 0 cm to 1 cm.
Again, the downwards offset is pretty consistent like in 40.
In 9.40, I felt like it was more accurate towards the center, and the offset grew as you went more outwards.
However, in 9.41, I feel like it’s actually more consistent throughout all of the areas of the screen with a bit more accuracy towards the center (hard to tell).
Moving my chair forward to push the cursor up, and counter the offset
After a calibration, my head may tilt left and right, and my body may move side to side, but I don’t really lean forward or backward.
I remembered some previous conversations about the vertical shift that occurs due to a change in the distance from the eye tracker.
I moved my chair forward a bit after a calibration, and I was able to often get the cursor close to the targets that I wanted.
Thanks.
