The issue I was handling was unfortunately different from yours but I do, however, have a few follow-up questions:

Have you upgraded to Win 8 or are you still on Win 7?

From the specifications I see that the computer has a combination of USB2 and USB3 input ports. This might be a silly questions but are you sure that you are using one of the USB3 input ports?
http://www.lenovo.com/hk/en/productcatalog/pdf/Edge330_Datasheet.pdf

It would be helpful if you are able to install the SDK on a different machine to verify that the tracker is operational.

-- still on Win 7.

-- check it every time. Its USB3.0, with blue part inside.

-- Ok. try to.

Hi, I have a really big problem with my device which was working fine before.

All of a sudden, there was a problem with the eye tribe where the device suddenly kept throwing a "try connecting to a USB3.0 port instead" error.
It seems to be a connection issue at first, but then the cable soon stopped registering connections completely (as in couldnt sense a port at all) as well.

I used another similar cable with USB3.0 port capabilities.. It worked for a while then kept saying it had a USB3.0 port problem. Then it just kept disconnecting itself - similar to the first cable problem. This was tested on multiple computers to no avail.

This is a strange problem that desperately needs fixing - it already died for an important project presentation today and I can't risk it failing for the next presentation 1 month later.

Samelo,

Since it was working fine and now has connection issues it sounds like the USB 3.0 connector has come loose and needs a little rework. Please send an email to support@theeyetribe.com to arrange for a replacement.

It would be helpful if you are able to install the SDK on a different machine to verify that the tracker is operational.
-- done. Try 4 different computers with usb3.0, windows 7/8 and with 3 version of SDK. All the same, doesn't work.

sis0ft00,

Sounds like there's an issue with the hardware. If it has been working before and now it no longer does it's probably the USB connector that has come loose. Please send an email to support@theeyetribe.com to have it fixed/replaced.

To specify a bit:

- Also Lenovo (Twist s230U)
- USB 3.0 eXtensible-Hostcontroller - 0100 (Microsoft)
- read that this might cause problems but Intel explicitly states that it does not provide drivers for Win 8 ( I have 8.1)
- Server starts but states that EyeTribe is not connected to a USB 3 port
- Connection from cable to the tracker seems to be a bit wobbly so the previous stated problem that this could be an hardware issue from the tracker side could be true for my issue.

Till now the tracker worked fine so please let me know if there is a solution to this issue.

Greetings,
Ewald
