9.40 – Offset downwards, flickering but stable, good at corners

Disclaimer: only an initial, personal account of 9.40

Offset directly downwards

Near the center region of the screen, the cursor is somewhat accurate, but sometimes goes 2 cm directly downwards of where I’m looking at (directly down, and not with any extra shift to the left or right).
As you go out towards the edges of the center region of the screen, the cursor is 2 to 3 cm lower.

Flickering, but still stable

As you go further outwards in the screen, past the edges of the center region, there will be constant flickering of the animated eyes in the Eye Tribe UI.
The flickering and 9.40 seems to be the most rapid that I’ve ever seen.
The animated eyes appear and disappear so fast that it only slightly dips into the red “eyes-not-detected” background of the Eye Tribe UI.
With all the flickering, you would think that the cursor is jumping around, but it’s not.
It’s very stable.
Whether the background is green, or its flickering, it’s pretty stable.

I went back to try 9.28, and I still think it has the least amount of flickering.
However, as soon as the Eye Tribe UI turns red during a flicker in 28, the cursor will jump around like crazy.

Much better at reaching corners

I think there was mention of improved detection in the corner sections of the screen.
I absolutely noticed an improvement in tracking in the corner areas.
In 9.28, in order to try to get the cursor at the corner, I would have to sometimes look outside of the screen, and actually look at my physical monitor.

Thanks.

and when you lean backward of forward on your chair, even by an inch don't you notice an offset of one inch on X and Y axis ?
