I get a crash on server startup too. This thread made me wonder about the port. Turns out I needed to go find the USB3 driver for my laptop; Windows did not find it on its own (the ports were running in USB2 mode)

Now crash is all better :)

I have the same issue. How do I check whether it is running in USB 3.0 or 2.0 mode?

Martin, could I also have a try at release candidate 1 for version 0.9.39?

Hello Martin,

Thank you very much for your help, it's working perfectly now.

When I installed this new version (sdk .39), the server was still crashing but the server window wasn't coming at all anymore. So, I tried the same than others from this forum, I uninstalled my usb 3.0 drivers and re-installed them manually.

Now it works well, thank you again Martin !

Best Regards,

Julien

Worked for me as well! It told me that USB 3.0 failed, I reinstalled the USB 3.0 drivers and that worked.

Hi Martin,

My computer has the same problem, my USB might be the 2.0 version, can you send me the updated version so I can try it on.

Thanks a lot.

I also have the same problem: launching the server immediately fails, with the error: "The EYE TRIBE TRACKER Server has stopped working".

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit.
In the Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus controllers, the machine reports that it has a Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller installed and working properly.

I don't know how to determine if the EyeTribe believes it isn't connected to a USB 3 port.
My log file is below.

@Martin, could you please send me your new release candidate?
Hopefully,
Golan

@Martin, thank you for sending me the pre-release version of 0.9.39-x86 for my Windows 8.1 machine. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the server no longer crashes upon startup, so 0.9.39 is definitely better. The bad news is that it does not work with my Eye Tribe device, whose firmware is out of date. Transcripts are below. Who/how/where can I download the latest firmware?

Here are transcripts of how this appears.
Specifically, this appears in the terminal:

Code: Select all
INF: Eye Tribe Tracker firmware revision is 0
ERR:The Eye Tribe Tracker firmware revision is no longer suported!
    Please upgrade to revision 202

Are you running Windows on Mac hardware? I think that you have the standard USB drivers from Microsoft still installed.

I recall when we installed on MacMini and had issues with the bootcamp driver package. Turned out that we manually had to go into the Device Manager, right click and click Uninstall the driver for the USB 3.0 controller. Then we manually added the correct drivers (Bootcamp package) and it worked perfectly.
