Hi Martin,

I'm happy to report that the two new Eye Tribe trackers work well. We'll be using these in our upcoming study.

I did have one brief disconnection when testing one of the devices for an hour. This showed up as "The device stream has paused"/"The device stream has stopped" messages. The device reconnected in about 8 seconds, so it's probably not a big deal. Here's the log:

I'll follow up with Rasmus to RMA the defective device. I hope you find out figure out the defect when it's in your lab! It was very strange that it only froze on Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit with that one device.

I would like to mention that I had troubles updating the firmware. It seems that my USB port is not working properly with the TET and I got during update disconnection and reconnection of the device. I managed to finish the update using a different computer.

The first one was a Lenovo G510
The second one was a Lenovo T430

(I unistall the power management software, looking forward to solve my usb problems, but ir didn't)

Sorry to hear that Joaquin.

I just got word from Antti:
Code: Select all
I have ran a couple of tests with the new firmware and the device seems to work fine now.

I had to do the update twice since the first round went somehow wrong. After first try Windows warned about a current peak in USB root hub.

So it does seem to help in some cases. Not sure what we can do to make it work on the Lenovos, I suppose you have tried all the usual things like updating, cables etc. ?

It has come to my attention that there is a major conflict occurring when flashing our devices on systems that also have a Tobii EyeX/Steelseries Sentry device installed. This is due to both devices use the Cypress FX3 controller and that Tobii have decided to override the default Cypress driver with their own and force-flash their firmware onto all empty Cypress devices that connects to the computer.... this starts automatically and cannot be stopped, thanks! :x

Therefore, if you wish to update the firmware on a computer that also have the Tobii installed you must disable/uninstall the Tobii software first.

Otherwise, if the driver have been messed up by the Tobii software you must:
- Start the Device Manager
- Right click "Tobii IS3 Factory Bootloader" under "Eye Tracking Devices" and select Properties.
- Select "Driver" tab
- Click "Uninstall", tick the checkbox "Delete the driver software for this device" before clicking Ok

Ok, no need to delete just run "services.msc" and right click Tobii Service and hit Stop. Then proceed to flash the device.

Also, wait for Windows to initialize the device. See message at bottom right task bar.
