upside down controller

Postby ryklin » 25 Oct 2014, 05:24

It might be good to allow for the controller to be placed upside down. I discovered that some laptops only have USB ports on the right side of the keyboard, which might be too far away for the included cable. To obviate the need for getting a longer USB cable that can stretch that far, we can turn the tracker upside down, and then use the supplied cable.

We used to have this functionality but took it out since the flip was impacting performance negatively. I've put your request into our ticketing system and will take it up on our next dev. meeting.

Just wanted to return back to this issue. Having the flip feature would be useful for numerous reasons. We would have more flexibility when mounting the device. In some cases I would like to suspend the controller from a bar which would allow me to position the tracker in the subject's field of view (from the rear view mirror in an automobile for example). Primarily however, it would make connecting to USB ports that are on the right side of a laptop much simpler and neater.
